Music of the Carolinas, a series sponsored by The North Carolina Museum of History and PineCone presented John Dee Holeman and Andy Coats on October 10, 2010. It was certainly a beautiful day to enjoy some authentic Blues music. I have seen John Dee Holeman once before when he preformed with Nat Reese a little while back at The Rialto Theater, this show was no disappointment either. Andy opened the show and got the crowd warmed up for John Dee. We heard some traditional Blues along with originals and several interesting songs. John Dee told a story about Chapel Hill in the 50s and how that scene along with a nightclub called the Tin Top inspired an original number called The Chapel Hill Boogy. The museum auditorium is the perfect venue to stop in, relax, and see some talented musicians perform their craft and that seemed pretty evident as most of the seats were full and a little crowd had gathered at the back of the hall.
