Singer Songwriter Lizzy Ross took the stage at The Six String Cafe opening up for Kickin Grass on Wednesday the 12th.  Lizzy has a unique sound that combines characteristics from several genres. Regardless of how you want to label Lizzy’s music the girl has talent. She has a very serene voice but was able to get on with it and add a bit of Rock-N-Roll when need be. One thing that kept running through my mind as I watched the show was, man this girl has to have a lot of courage to get in front of a crowd of folks right by herself and sing her heart out, for that I admire her. She did a fine job on the guitar and toward the end of her set brought Patrick Walsh from Kickin Grass on stage to accompany her on his bass. I liked all the songs Lizzy preformed but two that stuck in my mind were Needle and Thread and Maria. I liked the fact that in between songs Lizzy gave us a little background and/or insight on that particular song. All in all it was a great show and as successful as Lizzy Ross is now I expect to see great things from her in the future.
